This is my first MapInfo tutorial. In this example, I will show you how to create a new MapInfo table. A Mapinfo table stores information about the browser data and spatial data. The browser data is a tabular data (Browser) that represent the spatial data (Mapper). Every objects in mapper window always have entries in browser window. See the example below to create a new table in MapInfo.
To create a new blank Mapinfo table, do the following:
1. Go to File | New Table (Ctrl + N)
2. Select both Open New Mapper and Open New Browser if you want to directly add object to Map Window and add data to the Browser. Press Create.
3. Add Fields to the table. This fields will store any information on the table. Next press Projection to set the map window projection.
4. Press Create when ready and select the folder where you want to save the table.
5. OK now we are ready to create objects to the map. See the browser window on the back. Every objects we created on the map window, Mapinfo will add entries to the browser window.
Thank you.
